Southwest Park has a fenced-off area that contains a large pond, tall grass, and shrubs. The lizard habitat that was protected by a fence surrounding a huge lake from the high rain levels. We noticed that most of the trash was located on the inside of the habitat. We reached over and managed to pick up chip bags, coke and beer bottles, and loads of plastic waste including cellophane wrappers. The littered items could have ended the lives of such small animals and It felt great to help protect the lizards.
